No child should be disappointed during the holidays, and with your help we can bring smiles to the faces of hundreds of little ones this year.
We’ve partnered with various toy drives across Canada, and are making it easy for you to participate in their toy drives this holiday. Samko & Miko Toy Warehouse will collect all toys donated and deliver them to each toy drive. Each toy drive distributes toys to families in need, so that every child has the opportunity to receive a gift during the holiday season. CURRENT TOY DRIVES YOU CAN DONATE TO:

CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish
51st Annual CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish
The CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish program has become one of the largest distributors of toys to children in need in the Greater Toronto Area. The program also provides financial assistance to hundreds of agencies, ensuring that hundreds of thousands of children across the GTA enjoy a holiday experience. The Children’s Book Bank provides free books and literacy support to children living in low-income neighborhoods across Toronto. Since 2008, the Book Bank has operated a beautiful storefront space located in the Regent Park/St. James Town neighborhood which welcomes school and camp groups as well as families and their children to listen to stories, browse our collection, and choose a favorite book to take home to keep.
The Book Bank has expanded its reach and now provides additional books and literacy materials through community centres, schools, and health clinics in low-income neighbourhoods throughout the city.
In 2016, The Children’s Book Bank gave away 120,000 donated books.

Young Street Mission
Since opening our doors in 1896, The Yonge Street Mission (YSM) has been there, helping people from every walk of life to rise out of poverty. Our roots are embedded in the community, from its first days distributing bread and milk to hungry immigrants to its current role as a beacon of hope for the city’s most vulnerable. Last year, YSM’s Christmas Toy Market helped over 1400 kids in need.

Christmas Cheer Board – Winnipeg
Since the end of WW1 Winnipeg citizens have been preparing food hampers and children’s gifts for the less fortunate in our city. As we reach our 100th year, we recognize that the need that began as a way to help widows and orphans of the Great War has now grown to include those who may be struggling with their need to look after themselves and their families as well as newcomers who may have arrived from a country that is no longer safe for them. Christmas of 2016 saw our organization deliver food hampers to 18,00+ families along with almost 20,000 gifts for children from babies to 14 years old. We are successful every year because of the grass roots participation of so many individuals, businesses, schools and churches to fund raise, food and toy drive and spend many hours in our warehouse preparing and delivering the hampers. “Caring and Sharing”.

Toys for Tots
Toys For Tots (Canada) is a Canadian charity based on local partnerships between Canadian Armed Forces, businesses, and concerned citizenry whose sole focus as an organization is to provide toys for children who are in need. We work to address and prevent specific problems faced by families and their supporting charity organizations by providing toys to children who would otherwise go without during a major religious holiday and provide toys throughout the calendar year to local emergency and social agencies to distribute to children during catastrophic circumstances.
We support social service agencies and charities who have direct relationships with the families in need of support. Toys for Tots does NOT accept toy hamper requests directly. We collect toys though donations made at retail partners, media sponsors, and corporate fundraising events. Children’s names come in from our partner agencies, and we sort toys and pack hampers for both individual home deliveries and large bulk packages for distribution before Christmas and throughout the year as requested.
All funds raised are used for purchasing toys, or related supplies, and to cover basic operational expenses related to the toy program. We are a 100% volunteer organization. NOT ONE DONATED DOLLAR GOES TO PAY SALARIES OR ANY OTHER MANPOWER COSTS.
We exist to increase resiliency and inspire BIG dreams for Canadian children living in low-income communities by providing inspirational experiences and nurturing personal relationships, one child at a time.
At CityKidz the Gift of Christmas is faith, hope and love, packaged and wrapped for each child and family, expressed through meaningful and thoughtful presents and a Christmas celebration. For our kids and families, it’s a reminder, at a time of year when they need it the most, that they are not forgotten, they are loved and there is hope.
The Gift of Christmas is:
- the greater Hamilton community donating thousands of gifts for children in need
- children gathering for a hot meal and an interactive Christmas party with friends
- hundreds of volunteers sorting through toys for a personalized gift that will be perfect for each child
- those volunteers delivering those gifts to each child’s door, days before Christmas
- a smile on a child’s face, left knowing they are loved and that someone, who didn’t have to, thought of them during one of the most important days of a child’s year
